WOSU Coverage of Willie Phoenix Way Dedication: TV Party Tonight! Edition - by Ricki C.

Okay, full disclosure: since it’s a holiday weekend nobody on the vaunted Pencil Storm Editorial Board had the foresight to look ahead and realize we didn’t have a Saturday Night Special in the works. Luckily, WOSU-TV - our local Columbus, OH PBS outlet - ran a segment Thanksgiving evening on their Broad & High program about the October dedication of Willie Phoenix Way, and we’re going to plunder their YouTube channel for some videos.

Also, we’re going to put up the original City Council of Columbus video that was livestreamed the day of the dedication ceremony; October 15th, 2020.

ENJOY!!!

And last - but certainly NOT least - thanks to WOSU-PBS T.V. and to the City of Columbus for all the work they put into honoring Willie Phoenix in this way. Broad & High segment producer Mary Rathke did a KILLER job on the Willie videos and really, how many major American cities would honor a rocker in their midst in this way? I’ve never heard of Boston naming a street Willie Alexander Avenue or David Minehan Boulevard. (Or even Ric Ocasek Place, for that matter.)

Thank you Columbus City Council and WOSU T.V. - Ricki C. / November 28th, 2020
