Will AC/DC Be Playing Their Final American Show In Cleveland?

This blog originally ran last year when Colin attended the AC/DC show at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland. Kinda obviously, it did NOT turn out to be Brian, Angus & the boys’ last American show, as they are playing next Wednesday, July 15th at Ohio Stadium. I was 26 years old in June 1979 when I interviewed Bon Scott and had lunch with Angus & Malcolm Young detailed in the blog linked below. I am now 74 years old. I can’t believe that was 47 years ago. I can further not believe Angus Young is still striding across rock & roll stages in this second decade of the 21st century almost exactly like he was in that dim, dim, fairytale past. Colin will likely be attending next week’s show. I’m sure you’ll be able to read about it here. - Ricki C. / July 10th, 2026.

On Wednesday May 28th, my son and myself will be making the two hour drive up I-71 to the North Coast to catch AC/DC at Huntington Bank Field. The forecast is calling for rain and I am not sure if Brian Johnson can sing at all, but I have definitely sat in Browns Stadium for worse reasons under poorer conditions. This evening the “factory of sadness” will hopefully become the “factory of tinnitus.”

In fact, I cannot remember the last time I have been so excited for a big rock show. I am giddy with anticipation.  There aren’t many events in life more fun than watching Angus Young strut his stuff and there is a very good chance this could be the final AC/DC show in North America.

In honor of the occasion, I thought we would post some links to previous AC/DC stories we have run on Pencil Storm. Enjoy!

Of course we must lead with the time Ricki C. had lunch with AC/DC. Click here for that very true story! AC/DC - My Lunch With Angus.

Scott Plez is the biggest AC/DC fan I know and I know a LOT of serious AC/DC fans. Click here for his comprehensive ranking of every AC/DC record.

Not to be outdone, Pencil Storm rock n roll beat writer JCE weighed in with his own list in 2024. Click here to check that out.

Below are my two of favorite AC/DC clips I probably watch at least once a month. Or twice a Saturday night, depending.
